Win XP Home SP2 ( E drive. LG DVD/CD player burner).
Suddenly WMP version 11 when I drag a track to the burn list says-'Connect burner and restart'.
Was OK a month ago when I last used it.
Device manager shows all OK.( Device working properly'
Have checked drivers and cables.
Obviously done re-boots.
Before I remove and replace it with my earlier Cd drive is there anything beyond what I have done that I should check.
I haven't yet unplugged PC disconnected the drive/booted up/shut down/ reconnected etc.
The drive still plays media OK.
Thanks.

But can you access WMP from there or just get the tracks from 'my music'.

Just want to put a few tracks on to an Mp3 CD.
Tried with Nero from my music,
but the only Nero I appear to have is Nero StartSmart which only accepts DVDs.
Is there a free Nero that burns CDs?

I was obviously doing something wrong in my haste, but third attempt burnt OK. Will test further later on.
So it must be a WMP problem.
Thanks for your help.

Did you ever discover what the problem was with WMP? No doubt an un-install and re-install of WMP11 might cure it, but bit of a hassle.
Anyone else have any suggestions.
