WMC crashing

I am trying to access my movies via Windows media centre but when i click "movie" file "windows media centre has stopped working". I have tried; Control panel-programs features-turn windows features on/off-untick media centre-restart-repeat but this time tick media centre,i believe this method uninstalls and reinstalls. problem still persist.

Did these files work before with WMC? I have found due to the different formats formats some files may not work with WMC but will work with free programs like VLC.

Hello, i am running windows 7 64 bit when i drag and drop the movie files into media centre and they all play fine. I am trying to set media centre up so i can control with a remote and use as central hub for everything, i can browse music/pictures/videos but when i try to browse "movies" i get the error/crash message.Thank you for your replies.
