Wirless router problem

  jswelburn 16:15 13 Mar 2009

I have just got a new router TP-LINK WR340G. The WAN connection looks to be a ethernet socket aposed to a ADSL one. I think this as the connector for my old router is to small for the socket.

Is there any type of adaptor you can get?

Thanks for any help

Is that router for cable connection not ADSL. Sounds like it has no modem in it. Did you buy it from a high street store?

“The WAN connection looks to be a Ethernet socket apposed to a ADSL one”

What type and make of modem you using?

The Wan port on the router connect to the Ethernet port on the modem and the modem connect

to the ASDL phone line

Just checked the spec on the router and it doesn't have a built-in modem.

So you would need to connect it to a ADSL/cable modem for it to connect to the internet.
