Wirless Internet

Hi, i dare say that this has been covered before but nevertheless, my daughter want to go onto Broadband and hopes to eliminate the need for a lengthy extension phone cable. Can she go wireless?? with the modem in a downstairs room, where the only phone socket is, and use the computer upstairs, if so what will she need??

yes she can, you will need a wireless router, and a card for the pc or laptop

A wireless BB modem/router will normally be available from her supplier at extra cost. ordinary modems are normally supplied free.

She will need filters to fit to all telephone points that are in use, even if it's only for sky tv.

these are also normally supplied.

She will also need a compatible wireless adapter for her computer, These are relatively cheap.

Basically that is it.
