My mate wants to get rid of his desktop as he has bought a laptop.
What does heed need to connect his laptop to his ISP.

This is needed so he can spend quality time with his partner,he playing on line poker, she watching her soaps.lol

I'm assuming he'll need a wireless modem/router and a card for the laptop.
Any advice on reliable parts appreciated.

Thanks.

If a new model of laptop,i would guess its wireless enabled already.

Yes a router is needed, but depending on his isp if Cable or BT,if BT a adsl modem router/if Cable a modem and router.

My old laptop isn't wireless enabled, so I bought the Netgear DG834G wireless modem-router together with the WG111 usb wireless adapter for the laptop. They work faultlessly and were a doddle to set up. click here

No, you will need to buy a usb or wireless network card to use with this laptop, that is as well as a router.
