With my new laptop which arrived on Tuesday, I have noticed that the laptop does not hold the wireless link as well when in battery mode. When plugged to the mains it is not a problem.
Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening.
Live in a small 3 bed bungalow and there cannot be more than 25 foot between laptop and router even though both in different rooms whether laptop in bedroom or in living room.
Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1720.

If you go into the Control Panel then Power Settings there should be an advanced tab (I'll post back) that allows you to configure the performance for 'wireless' under battery conditions.

This may not be set high enough.

on my laptop it's

Control Panel

Power Options

Change Plan Settings

Change advanced power settings

Expand 'wireless adapter settings'

Expand 'power saving mode'

Change the setting for 'on battery' - Mine's set at 'Maximum Performance'.

Thanks for that.
Will check my settings tonight and reset them.
