Excuse my ignorance, can I use a wireless router to connect a laptop to a dial up connection, or do they only work on broadband?

Some wireless routers used to have the facility to work with dial-up, though you might be hard pressed to find one. Trawl through this lot click here= and see if you can find any.

Can you not get broadband or do you use the net so little it's not worth it?

House is 10Km from nearest exchange and Openreach have tried to connect with BB but say signal becomes unusable 3Km from house. '21st Centuary Network' should fix out of range problem when 20Kb version is rolled out under 21st centuary network exchange upgrade.Until then its slow dial up.(see also my post re 'slow browser'
