Wireless printing with laptop.

Hi, I have a laptop with Wi-fi, firewire & infrared & I want to connect a printer & a scanner wirelessly to it. Is it possible to do this 1) easily 2) cheaply. Thanks.

I used a Canon mobile printer (BJ85 I think) with my Toshiba laptop until both were stolen from my car. I used the infrared and it performed faultlessly As well as printing I used the Canon for scanning documents, with the optional scanning head used in place of the ink cartridges. Again very successful, a little slow but a real boon when working away from home and working in hotels. From memory the printer cost about £220 and the scanner head aboit £60.

Cheapest (and simplest) way is to keep the desktop PC connect the scanner and printer to that and allow file & printer sharing.

Alternative is a print server (more money)

I have a very nice SMC baricade router/firewall/print server, works great , and if you get another PC you still can use it ....
The way to go for me !!!!
