Wireless printing? Is it worth the £55?

  buel 14:23 08 Aug 2009

Hi, i have been reading about printing on a wireless network lately and the method i read says to buy a D-link DP-G310 wireless print server which costs £55. Does anyone know of an easier/cheaper way than this please? I have 2 printers and 2 laptops in my front room (much to my gf's annoyance...and 1 of the laptops is hers!) my printers are an Epson R285 and an Epson R220 if that helps?

I've got the Netgear print server that Stuartli has linked to and found it very easy to setup with the supplied software tools (it's worth it for the software) and it's very convenient to print from any system in the house. You can connect 2 printers to it.

I bought my d-link g310 off e-bay at a fraction of the price, note the 310 won't give bi-directional support,so printer software for ink levels won't work, probably better to buy a wl-fi enabled printer/ mfd to start with,Tescos had an Hp model for a little more than the £55 you were going to spend on the wi-fi print server alone.
