Hi,
I would like to have a wireless connection between my laptop and printer and be able to print.

Can someone help me? How can I do this?

Thanks.

You will need either one of these,a print server

If you have a PC wired connected to router (in addition to your laptop) you can do it without the need for a server or wireless printer.

Or a printer with a Network card like the Lexmark E120N which connects by cable to your router.

If your laptop does not have built-in wi-fi you will need a USB wireless adaptor unless your laptop is connected to a network. The adaptor will communicate with the wireless print server, which can either be a stand-alone or, like postie24's printer, built-in to the printer.

Options

1. Wireless printer

2. Print server

3. Network printer connected to router ( Ethernet or USB on some routers )

4. Printer connected to other PC on network (other PC has to be on ) Worst option.

I generally don't recommend Lexmarks but I have an E120N connected to the router.

Prints from Linux and Windows anywhere on Network.

Running costs not so much an issue with Lasers.

Thanks to all of you. The information is very helpful.

My laptop can connect to a wireless network, so I'm using a wireless modem at home. My printer is Canon MP800. It doesn't has any wireless. My laptop also has bluetooth. Is it possible to attach a bluetooth adaptor (receiver) to the printer and print trough bluetooth connection between the printer and laptop?

By the way, sorry for my bad English, hope I can tell clearly.
