Hi!I'm thinking about setting up a wireless network. The problems is I'm not very sure what to buy. I have found a "Wireless-G Access Point" at Dabs.comDabs.com Quicklinx 2D12WS Do I need the Wireless access point and a couple of network cards? Pls help. I'm not very sure.
Hi!Forgot to add- I was going to buy these cardsDabs.com 15MWWS
If you are going to network two or more computers you can either use a Wireless access point and a hub, or you can use a wireless router. In either case you'll need a wireless network adapter (internal or USB external) for each machine. You can buy a router with an ADSL modem built in, and then use it to distribute the network. The router (if it has its own modem) connects directly to the ADSL phone line.
I have networked three systems in the last 14 days, this is what I used and can really reccomend them as being dead simple to setup!Netgear Dg824 adsl/routerNetgear Ma311 w/less PCI cards for desktopNetgear Ma401 PCMCIA for laptops. And no I do not work for netgear, I am self employed.
