Sorry if obvious...but is broadband enabled at your new house?

Have you informed your ISP that you are moving house and that you will have a new telephone number to connect to the internet?

  nikef 23:48 09 Dec 2006

yes i am connected to the internet on my pc with broadband

<<yes i am connected to the internet on my pc with broadband>>
that is an ambiguous answer

is your telephone connected to broadband and has your ISP transferred to your new address?
also do you need to reconfigure your router to gain access to the outside world?

  nikef 11:23 10 Dec 2006

what do you mean its an ambiguous answer harps1h ?

ok,this is whats happening

i'm with telewest and as i have moved from the midlands to plymouth,i now have a new account, and possibly a new isp ,not sure,as my email and account details have now changed

the telewest team came and put my broadband on yesterday,so i have my tv,telephone ,internet as one package as i did in the old house

i can get on the internet fine with my pc,but i cannot get on line with my laptop
hope this helps

i'm sorry if i came across as abrupt, but the more detail you provide the quicker someone will come up with a solution

how does your pc connect to the net?
how does the laptop connect to the internet? directly or via a router. if your laptop connects via a router but not your pc then look at the router settings as these may need to be manually updated.

you have got a cable router (connects to your PC) does it have wireless built in?

if not then you will need to share he connection with the main PC provided the main PC has a wireless card.
