Wireless Networking

I am trying to link wirelessly an Evesham PC with an Evesham laptop, the latter is wireless enabled.
I have a netgear router WGR614 attached to the PC, and the Laptop indicates that the network is set up with excellent signal strength.
However when I attempt to use Internet explorer on the laptop I receive a message saying:-
You were denied access because
access denied by access control list"
and I cannot connect to the web.
The same applies when attempting to send an e-mail
However upon booting up the laptop automatic downloads were downloaded, and a request for AVG updates was successful, apparently indicating that I have been connected to the Net.
Can you help me please.

have a look in your connection properties and see if you connect using a proxy ticked, if so untick it and reboot.
