Wireless Network after XP Service Pack2

After unsuccessful attempts under SP1, I have now easily set up a Network PC and Laptop, under SP2.
However it continually tries to connect to the Internet (Dial Up), when I just want to access files on the PC.
How do I stop it's desire to connect to the Internet, until I want to.

do you mean connecting to the internet as soon as it finds it!

What is your router and wireless card!

Thank you for responding. The problem starts as soon as I boot up the laptop, and although I stop it, it keeps trying to connect.

You may need to click the radio button 'Never dial a connection' under IE6>Tools>Connections

Thank you. I got the answer from "to enable Internet Sharing on-demand dialing"
