Wireless Network Adapter Installation

Hi all,

I recently joined O2 Broadband and have experienced a fair few problems with setting everything up.

My computer does not have wireless capability built in and so I cannot use a CAT5 ethernet cable to connect and must use a wireless adapter.

Adapter in question is: Sweex LW053 Wireless LAN USB 2.0 adapter 54 mbps.

It says in the manual that I have to put in the adpater to a USB and then insert installation disc. Then it should take me through installation process/'found new hardware' etc.

Nothing happens however and when I go to My Computer there is no mention of a wireless adapter or other piece of hardware in the USB.

Any ideas as to how I can install it?

Thanks

Do you mean the computer do not have a LAN card that is why you cannot use an Ethernet cable?

All you need is a Lan card and install on the motherboard using one of the PCI slot

It is strongly recommended by All router suppliers that you use a physically connected cable
to the Router via a Ethernet RJ45 cable for router setup.

Using a wireless connected computer for setup is Not recommended to access wireless router setup at any time

Try installing the software first and than plug in the USB Wireless Adapter
