Hi,

I've got my main pc connected to broadband via cable modem. I purchased a laptop at the weekend and want to connect it wirelessly to my main pc and the internet.

I've searched the net but keep finding conflicting info. I'm going to buy a 802.11b PCMCIA card for the laptop so that it is wirelessly enabled. The problem I have is at the main pc side. Can I buy a 802.11b wireless PCI card like this? click here
Will this enable me to set up the wireless connection or should I buy a wireless access point instead? I ask because the PCI route is quite a bit cheaper and I'm a lowly student.
Cheers

Yes, a PCI is fine for the desktop.

Must be USB or PCMCIA for the laptop though.
