Wireless mouse not working

  suedeblue 13:49 15 Mar 2007

Can anyone offer any help on a microsoft wireless mouse (4 yrs old) that has started working intermitently then stops altogether. Batteries have been changed but it does not cure the problem.USB wires have been checked.
My wired mouse works fine. Could it simply be that it is past its best?

Have you tried resetting the communication link between the mouse and the base unit?

There should be a button on the base unit and one the underside of the mouse.

Check device manager that there is not problem with the HID device drivers.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I went into the hardware manager and it seems ok for the time being. Trouble shooting section could not find any problem.
Fingees could you let me know what make you got when you changed mouse and keyboard please.
