am changing from standard broadband modem to wireless router/modem what do i have to uninstall to allow new modem to work if anything

You shouldn't need to uninstall anything.

You will need to setup the modem side of the router to connect to your ISP.

Then the internet should always be available to each computer in your internal network. No dial up necesscary!

Any probs with setup, post back.

Assuming you mean its a USB modem, you don't have to do anything but for tidy's sake uninstall the drivers and any related software for the old usb modem.

I take it by standard you BT based broadband. If so would recommend Netgear Dg834G click here free wireless adapter (either desktop or laptop at the moment) Easy to setup and use all in one unit including firewall, modem, router, wireless. Also excellent support by netgear.
