Galaxy Note 8 vs iPhone X
Hi, i asked this question a while ago, but somone just cut and pasted the answer to another question:
I am already able to access my home network and xboxlive with my xbox through the offcial microsoft wireless bridge connected to the back of it via a usb.
The problem i need solving is: my desktop is too far away from my router downstairs to be plugged into either net port.(my desktop doesnot have a wireless card you see and i would like to try and use the xbox bridge to act as this)
Is it possible to use my wireless bridge to bridge between my router and my desktop pc rather than the xbox?
ie take the wirless bridge out of the back of the xbox and plug it into a usb on my desktop pc and use it to connect to the internet? it should work no?
windows seems to want to use the bridge when i plug it into my pc usb, recognises it as a bridge but then says it cant find the drivers i need to use it.. i need to know where to find these drivers that will enable use with a pc. or any other help?
The wireless bridge is the 'official microsoft'wireless bridge unit for the xbox 360.
the operation systemi am useing is windows Vista (home edition).
also here is my previous message:
I have an xbox 360 with an official microsoft wireless bridge to connect to xbox live through my netgear router elsewhere in the house.
i have recently purchased a desktop pc without a wireless network card. Is it possible to use the xbox wireless bridge with my desktop pc therefor enabling me to use the internet.
so far i have plugged it into a usb port on the machine and windows vista recognises it and all, trys to search for drivers then cant find any. Is there a driver /piece of software i need to install in order for this to work? with a pc, or do i need to buy a pc wireless network card?
this is what i found & it looks like it is for the xbox 360 only. unless someone else can find anything else.
may i suggest that you get a wireless usb adapter which you can plug into any usb port on your pc.
oh well thanks anyway.
just for confirmation, thias is the adapter i have:
