wireless hard drives?

morning

i'm not the most clued up on pc's but here's my question

is it possible to have a external hard drive that i can store all my media on (movies,music etc) that can be accessed wirelessly from any pc or laptop in my house? if so whats the type i need/the best one to go for? and does any old external hard drive work if i link it to my router?

Hi,

If you want to plug a hard drive directly into your router then you need a NAS (Network Attached Storage) drive.

I use an Iomega Home Network Drive to access my folders from all PCs in my house. Really easy to set up and very affordable compared to others. I picked mine up for less than £95 at Tesco direct.
