Wireless connection using router to NTL cable

Can someone please help, I have a linksys wireless-G router which I want to connect to an NTL cable modem, this is currently connected to my laptop via a USB cable. I also have a wireless G notebook adapter card to plug into my laptop. My hope is to use mt laptop wirelessly around the house, however, as I read it, I am one ethernet cable short to configure the router. Is this correct or do I have the wrong router.
Normally I am pretty au fait, but this one has me stumped, help please would be appreciated

What is the model number of your router?

You need to connct the Ntl cable modem to the router with a ethernet cable.

and then use another from the router to the PC to set up the router, this cable is not required once the wireless router is set up.

Thanks fruit bat, I presumed this, I'm not sure though about ethernet cable connections to laptops - does it just plug into my modem port?
