Wireless connection problems...

I currently have bt broadband with the home hub, purely because i work for BT and it's totally free. I have two laptops one mine the other my wifes. They were both connecting wirelessly fine until last week when for no reason they both wouldn't see the router. Bt advised a change of channel on the router, they did this for me over the connection. The problem is that now my wifes laptop is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting to the router. Mine is ok with full strenght in most rooms in the house but the signal strength on the other is constantly up and down. Can anyone shed any light on this. Thanks.
