Wireless Connection with AOL Cable Broadband

Hi Guys,

I am having an issue setting up a Belkin G Plus MIMO Router (Model F5D9230-4 Ver 3000uk) with AOL Cable Broadband. The installation wizard succesfully configures the router however when it attempts to connect to the internet it is unsuccesful. I have tried this with both the PC & the Laptop (both connected via an Ethernet cable). I have used the same model router with NTL Cable (or Virgin as it is now) without any issues and I believe the problem may be the fact that although Cable, AOL requires you to connect using their own software whenever you want to use the internet (as if its ADSL). Any one have any ideas?

i am afraid your router is not compatable with the aol software.also they have no driver support for it as you need their own drivers or at least i had to with my adsl modem.i suspect although cable yours will be the same.

You are in an awkward position unfortunately as according to click here home networking is not supported for cable customers...very helpful!

I thought that might be the case- I picked it up for a mate as its worked so well with my cable modem- but I forgot he used AOL not NTL. Thanks for the help all.
