Wireless Connection with AOL Cable Broadband

Hi Guys,

I am having an issue setting up a Belkin G Plus MIMO Router (Model F5D9230-4 Ver 3000uk) with AOL Cable Broadband. The installation wizard succesfully configures the router however when it attempts to connect to the internet it is unsuccesful. I have tried this with both the PC & the Laptop (both connected via an Ethernet cable). I have used the same model router with NTL Cable (or Virgin as it is now) without any issues and I believe the problem may be the fact that although Cable, AOL requires you to connect using their own software whenever you want to use the internet (as if its ADSL). Any one have any ideas?

Many thanks.

Are you in a special area - I thought AOL only offered adsl broadband ?

No, they offer Cable services via the NTL lines. But i've now discovered that unlike the NTL service, AOL don't support routers except via ADSL!! Its a shame, I use the same model router with my own NTL service hence I recommended it to my friend!!
