Wireless Connection

  timestar 12:50 25 May 2008

I did search the forums before I asked this.

Had big problems with laptop, ended up having to format HDD and then re-install XP Pro. Now unable to connect to the wireless network I have set up at home. Tried all the various options XP offers, none of which work. Not helped by fact that some the options I would expect like "seach for networks" are not there in Control Panel.

Help - please!!!

Have you checked to make sure you haven't inadvertently flicked the wireless switch to the OFF position?

Is this an sp2 machine ? if not update to sp2 first by downloading the package and burn to cd and install on the lappy.

As above ...check to see if the wireless is turned off FN+F2

you may have to install the driver for your wireless card before you can view and connect to wireless networks.
