wireless 11g USB adapter.

My WIN98SE desktop has accessed broadband through a Netgear DG834G-3ALUKS Wireless ASDL Router and RJ45 cable.
I now want to access through a wireless 11g USB adapter.
I have the network set up and have installed the USB adapter which shows Network and signal strength, but I cannot read signal (connect)to WIN98SE OS.
(I can still revert to RJ45 cable)
Is there something else that needs doing?

I don't know to much about 98se and wireless (I was using a hub for networking through dial up when I was on 98) I do know not all usb adapters work with 98se but as you can see the network and signal strength then I am assuming that yours does, have you setup encryption on the router for the wireless if so have you put in the encrytion key into the adapter.

I have been going round in circles all day.
Now I have lost my cable connection.
I am posting his from my wife's laptop., working wirelessly.
So at least I know the router is working.
