Fdisk the drive that will delete the partition and there will be nothing left to clean,but you will need to make a new partion before you reinstall windows back.

Doesn't WIPE the data though (i.e still recoverable)

Each hard disk manufacturer will have a "Zero Fill" program you can download from their site. Usually makes a boot floppy or contains a file you add to a boot floppy.

Be aware that if your PC comes with a rescue CD you might wipe data needed for the Recovery CD to work.

Killdisk is a free low level formatting prog that will write 0's over the hard drive.
