I need a WinXP CD to Register a downloaded
marscore.dll in Run sfc /scannow
My PC came with WinXP builtin and I have no CD
only a Mesh Computer Recovery CD to revert back to Day1.
Could I use a borrowed WinXP CD not specific to my PC. My friend has a CD for WinXP Pro, could I use that for this purpose.

Start > Run > Type:

regsvr32.exe marscore.dll

Click ok.

Or open up the following folder...

Find: regsvr32

Drag and drop the dll file over it and it should register.

Start | Run | type regsvr32 c:\windows\system\marscore.dll

marscore.dll is in system32, I downloaded it, I can see it when system32 is opened and Search confirms its there.

Cant detect marscore.dll without running sfc /scannow but cant run sfc /scannow without

regsvr32 c:\windows\system\marscore.dll error message says module could not be found
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\marscore.dll error
message says initialisation routine failed

What does spikeychris expect 5 x F5 to do?

I was told elsewhere to get a WinXP CD
I wish to do Restore to a safer previous point,
is there a quick fix to enable me to do that
without having to mess with marscore.dll not found and sfc /scannow?

If the options from Powerless and myself fail then yes you can use another XP CD to run SFC /scannow.

F5X5 was to point out I should of refreshed the page as Powerless had posted the same as I.
