Im on Windows XP

So how can i change to NTFS, and change back again after extraction?

Its one-way only, you cant convert back from ntfs, any reason you want to stay on /return to fat32?

Well not exactly, i just dont know if there are any disadvantages of a NTFS, also i have a recovery partition on my drive which i find very useful, im worried that by converting it may overwrite this partition?

I have partition magic if that helps, all i want to do is extract this file, and have everything the way it is, is that not possible?

some more info for you
ntfs is more secure and less susceptible to errors.
you can leave the recovery partition at fat32,just convert main drive, this is how my lappy is set up.
Sorry off to work now, hopefully other peeps can clarify for you.
