i have downloaded Windows7, it shows 2.557.416 bytes in a zip file, if i double click on it, all there is in the window is a readme file of 135bytes. if i click on the zip file in the address box, i get the same 135bytes file. i have used Imgburn to burn the iso file to disc, when it has finished burning, all that is on the DVD disc is a zip file containing the 135bytes readme file
i did as you sugested and downloaded windows7 directly onto a DVD,when i looked at the DVD there was that zip file again. installing to a new formated drive, install from CD drive came on, then just beeped and did not load. installing over Vista just loaded vista. i have tried right clicking the zip file, all i get is the readme.txt file.
i downloaded from your click here, which is the same download i have been using. downloaded directly onto a DVD, it took an hour or so, when it had finished what do you think was on the DVD, that same darned zip file that i cannot do anything with
If you downloaded it directly to DVD (safer to download to your hard drive), then explore that DVD, locate the ISO file and drag it to your Desktop (for example). Then open Imgburn and choose the "Write Image File To Disk" option after inserting a clean DVD in your drive.
i downloaded(from microsoft )to hard drive. i now have the zip file, 7000.0.081212-1400_client_en_us_ultimate-gb1culfree_en-dvd-iso on my desktop, if i highlight it ,it says, type winrar archive size 2.43gb if i click, extract to, it extracts the readme file and nothing else. i extract to DVD , it puts the zip file on to DVD, on reboot the computer cannot read it,another wasted DVD
