My son rang me for help today but unfortunately I anm unable to do so but said I kew of some one who was almost certainly could !!
When his pc starts it asks for a log on password , the only one he has used is owner, which now seems to be not enough and the screen just stays blank no action whatsoever. We scrubbed everything from the msconfig that was surplus,
but didn't help, went to sys restore but he had not got it switched on.Went to system accounts, no good! Anything else he can try please short of reformatting? Any help gratefully received.Thank you.

hi birkdalite....
If you start computer in safe mode and login as administrator you should be able to sort it out from there ....
If not choose last known good configuration and see if that helps..tap the f8 key on starting the computer to get safe mode and last known good config......hop[e this helps
