windows xp taskmanager not working as it should

never let the guy next door use your computer when you're away for some days...
when i came back, nothing worked like it used to:
my computer seems extremely slow from time to time, sometimes it tries to read the floppy while there's no disk in, it takes 5 minutes to start f-secure(he installed it while i was away...), and our network crashes everytime he tries to access the folders i opened for him.

but the worst thing is: the taskmanager has gone crazy!
every windows user knows what it means when you can't use the taskmanager anymore...

the headline where you can change the views or shut down the pc has vanished!
it shows me all the running processes but that's it.

anyone knows what this could be?
is it f-secure that makes my computer behave like that?
i checked it multiple times, no program could find a virus...

Double click the thin blue line to restore the tabs, if that's what you mean. This can take a few attempts to work.

The borders that VoG mentions may also be grey if you've switched to classic view.
