windows xp start up

when i start up my pc on windows xp, my desk top loads with a message from microsoft stating that " associated applications not found" can anyone help me dis-enable this or help me with the problem?

click here and have a read then go down to THE PROGRAMS and download the list and use msconfig to remove any unwanted entries....this may well solve the problem.

Try the system file checker



sfc /scannow


Also try a registry cleaner.

Have you uninstalled anything? Perhaps something that had spyware installed. Do a check for spyware:
