Hi,Just a simple thing but it has got me wondering. When I start my PC it takes about one minute to boot up and load my Desktop icons.Until a few weeks a go it used to play a burst of music (Start Windows?) straight after the Welcome screen appeared. Now it plays the music at the end of boot up after the Desktop icons have appeared.Everything else appears to work normally.Any ideas as to why my boot up sequence may have changed?Regards,Bob S
Maybe it has a lot of programs that work in the background without you knowing. Go Start>run>type msconfig>ok>startup and untick things you don't think you need.
Thanks for that advice Dazwm. My problem was caused by a start up file named msmgs which is in Program Files/Messenger.I have sorted it by disabling the Messenger programme which I don't use.It has also removed the "pesky" Messenger Icon from my toolbar! All is now well
