Windows XP Service Pack 2 will not install

  ianeon 16:15 11 Dec 2005

I run XP Pro with SP2 - I had to re-format my hard drive and re-install Windows. When I went to install the updates everything went fine except that SP2 would not install - At the very end of the installation procedure I get the message "Access is Denied" I tried installing from a disc and from the website to no avail - All other Windows/Microsoft updates have installed correctly. Can anyone help please - Ian

Is your XP registered with Mircosoft ?, as snmetimes after a format, you lose the registry code that enables you to download SP2.

Try contacting Microsoft for a solution
