I saw this when I tried to start my PC. The error was corrected by MS Windows, but I report it here bacause I don't understand why it happened.
MS Windows has recovered from a serious error. To view the error ‘click here’
Error siganture:
BCCode 100000d0 BCP1: 0000400f BCPC : 00000002 BCP3: 0000000
BCP4: 8054D661 OSVer 5_1_2600 SP:2_0 Product 768_1
Then ‘click here’ again and the next dialog box shows:
C:DOCUME~1\John\LOCALS~\Temp\WER152d.dir00\Mini 081206_01dmp
C:DOCUME~1\John\LOCALS~\Temp\WER152d.dir00\sysdata.xml
Anyone any ideas?
I am getting 'problem reports' with a few programmes, requiring the computer to shut down.

1. Boot up in safe mode
2. Delete the folder "WER1.tmp.dir00" of all the user on your computer
3. Delete all in c:\windows\minidump4. Go to the DOS prompt and type "chkdsk /c" It will probably ask for performing a scan on the next bootup, select "yes"
5. Reboot

ArrGee
rawprawn
I only have a disk supplied by Sony which contains all of the software that was included in the price. I do not have a Windows XP Home separate disk.
However,if it is on the CD, can I use it as you prescribe?
Do I try ArrGee's solution first or do I try rawprawn's solution?
I'm sorry for the delay in my response, but I thought I had posted this until I checked!!
Thank you both for your help ....... what do you think?

Beware, the disk from Sony MAY restore your machine to the 'as supplied from the factory' state, losing all your data and any new progs you have installed

Can you look at the CD (in the drive) & see if there is a file I386 on it. If so you can copy it onto your computer, change the drive path and use it to do a system file check, which may solve your problem.
