Windows XP Professional Encryption woes

The ability to encrypt files is greyed on my installation. Is there anyway please of correcting this other than by reinstalling or repairing, It seems I can load "Upgrade" from my CDRom..will this workk do you think? Any h4elp would be appreciated.

Encryption is only available on hard drives formatted as NTFS, if you are using FAT32 you will need to convert the drive to NTFS.

To convert the drive you type convert x: /fs:ntfs at the command prompt x is the drive you are converting.

PhillipH. Thank you very much. I have two hard drives one ME and the other XP, this is why I cant have NTFS for the latter. You have at least same me a lot of unecessry work. Thank you very much for your help Phillip.
