I put my XP pro disk in to repair some files that were missing but my pc would not recognise it as it said the version i was using was more up to date, the only thing i know that would make a difference is that i installed service pack 2, which could make my disk a later version. I do not want to un install service pack 2 every time i want to do repairs or anything else. Can anyone help?
thanks little evo

here are some instructions on making a 'slipstream' disc - combining your original XP disc with service pack 2 and then making a bootable CD with it. That way you can use this new disc to make repairs, etc.
