Windows XP message

On opening up my XP screen I keep getting a message in a small box as follows

Initialize failed

despite ok'ing it it keeps reappearing. I know it may have something to do with a USB wireless dongle I once used-but having run my registry cleaner, 'Uniblue' and made sure the programme has been removed I still keep getting it. Anyone any suggestions please?

You need to either remove the Software for it from Add Remove Programs or Go into Device Manager and disable it

You could also Go to Start\Run type msconfig press enter and remove the tick from the box in startup tab so it does not try to start at boot

Windows Installer Clean-Up Utility should stop it from trying to load:

Thanks all. Software has been removed -and that did not fix it. Also disabled it in device manager but no joy. Did not think of the msconfig action but have now done a windows restore and that seems to have removed it.

Thanks everyone . I will close this thread
