Are you updating via Device Manager?

Have you tried downloading the driver from here?

Select from "Support and Drivers" from this page.

Is it possible you already have the latest driver installed?

I am updating through Driver Max, my comp is an HP media centre and the installed drivers are 8.206.0.0 the latest drivers on ATI for my card are 8.593.100.0 which installed ok when i switched on next day Windows update reinstalled old drivers on automatic update. Alan.

I check with Driver Max but I don't always use the recommended updates - I have known them to cause problems occasionally. It is not necessary to update drivers - unless you are having problems with your graphics card. (if it ain't broken why try to fix it?)
