Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing

I have a wired network of computers sharing a broadband connection. One of the computers on this network has wireless capabilities and I have created a wireless network between it and my laptop.

I'd like to be able to access the internet wirelessly using my laptop. I therefore need to set up internet connection sharing from the machine which is on the wired network and also has wireless capabilities.

The problem is that my modem/router on the wired network has the IP address 192.168.0.1 and Internet Connection Sharing wants to assign this to the computer that's sharing it's connection.

Is there any way around this?

Gary

Gary,

Try changing the router's network address to, say, 192.168.0.10

Regards,

Felix

FelixTCat,

I was trying to avoid having to do that. Is there no alternative?

Gary
