Just lately all my attempts to download and install patches etc. for Windows XP Home(SP2) via Windows Update fail with the error 80200010. I have to visit the Microsoft Downloads pages, search for the relevant patches download and install manually.
Microsoft´s "help" was worse than useless but neverless some supervisor decided the problem had been resolved to his satisfaction, end of story.

Please can someone offer some real help?
