I am using Window XP HE which has got DVD Rom.Tried to install a 2nd hand CD-R.Thw windows XP will only recognise one or the other.Somebody told me that CD-R might be set on Slave. How do I change from slave to master or from master to slave,so that both DVD and CD-R could work togather. Please help. Thanks

Setting or removing the jumper switches at the rear of the unit is used to determine slave (normally no jumpers set) or master (positions vary in settings).

Another possibility is that your BIOS is not set up to recognise the additional drive.

as Falkyrn has said

Where have you fitted the "2nd hand CD-R" on IDE2?

If it is on IDE2 and there are no other drives there, set this to master.

The pins are on the back of the cd-drive
