Windows XP connection problem

i have a laptop which has Windows XP OS and of late there seems to be a problem with the wirless connection (802.11g). usually i put my laptop on standby mode when i not using it but then when i log back in, i lose the internet connection. this is after my laptop successfully connects to my wireless network with excellent signal strength ( i get a pop-up window which says so ). even if i try to repair the connection, it does not help. it does not connect to the internet. to connect back to the internet, i usually then restart my laptop.

has anyone run into this problem and know how to fix it ?
thanks

Looks like standby is closing the connection, check the settings in control panel, internet connections and make sure its set not to disconnect...
