Windows firewall is somewhat lacking - it is inbound only.

You would be better off installing a good free firewall like Zone Alarm click here

Hi

Both VoG and woodchip have very valid points, and I agree with them. I have Norton firewall 2k6 on mine and it keeps me nice and safe. However if having another firewall is not an option then this is how to keep the windows one turned on.

Go

Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall

In the new screen just click "Turn on Windows Firewall" and then it will be on.

For future refernce the same applies to turning it off again should you wish to use a third party firewall.

Thanks

Mark
