My current Windows Operating system has crashed!
Fortunately i was updgrading soon anyway? can i install windows Xp just by booting from the CD?
Or do you have to be in a Windows operating system first??

You should be able to use F8 and elect to boot from the CD.

Boot from the cd ok.

you can then choose to format your drive and install (clean format), or install leaving your present drive intact, and saving the ols system in case you need to revert to it.

Hope this helps.
PS you have to set BIOS to boot from cd firt, and C: second.

If your Win XP disc is the full version and not the upgrade version then you will not have any problem. If your WinXp disc is the upgrade version then it will want to check for a qualifying Windows installation. Cheers, Bill

That you need to save your data first, if it is currently on the same drive/partition as the C drive!!
