windows was unable to complete format

i have 2 hard drives an i wanted to format my slave drive to remove my second operating system but at end of format it said windows was unable to complete format, any ideas why? and any ideas how i can format it?

DOn't know what went wrong but you don't really need Windows for this. You might do better using DOS or simply FDISK the second HD to remove and replace the entire partition.

BOOT to safe mode and reformat from there

i had two operating sytems, xp pro on my c: drive, xp home on my f: drive i wanted to keep operating system on my f: an format my c: so i swapped drives on ide cable and changed the jumpers but just checked disk management and it says that my c: status is healthy(system) and my f: healthy (boot) why is my c: using it for the system how can i change that to my f:
