Firstly my other half's laptop running Vista Premium used to be networked to my desktop PC running XP, What i want to be able to do is restore both computers mainly the laptop back to a standalone setup with no local network connections at all, apart from the wireless internet connection we both share.
I am having no luck at all doing this because when i go into the sharing centre on vista i cannot delete the local connection.
Please someone Help this Network Novice!

To stop sharing a folder in Vista, right-click it > Share > Stop Sharing > Done.

Do i not have to change any settings to restore it back to a stand alone PC as under the sharing centre it will still show as local connection present.

There is a local connection present but you're not sharing the Vista folders.

I suppose you could change the workgroup name.
