Windows Updates

I had a problem with my windows system , so I used the XP CD to run repair, and that cured the problem (kept freezing), however I now tells me that I have 74 security updates to be loaded (automatic updates), but they will not load. I have tried turning it off, and letting it auto-update, going to microsoft updates and loading manually, but no good.

I am considering wiping the drive and starting again, but it has taken me a long while to get it as I want it,
Any suggestions

Is it possible that your XP CD is SP1? if so you need to load SP2 first.

I think what I put about SP! is correct but also look here for troubleshooting

Try AutoPatcher's latest version:

Thankyou Stuartli (and also rawprawn & buteman).

I solved the problem by checking the numbers of the updates (Microsoft site), then going into the registry where they were listed under install. Deleted from there (risky I Know), then loaded auto patcher, where it loaded them all in, including 4 of the latest ones that were not on the Microsoft auto system.
Thanks again
