Windows Update Page ... No display

  L_Driver 15:52 30 May 2008

Hi, anyone else have an issue with Windows Update page not displaying anything ?

When selecting Win update from within Control panel ( in XP ) site opens with "Done" but no items displayed ( either text or graphics ).

I am XP Home SP3 using IE6

Ta for any relevant response / help.

Try Microsoft Update page instead.

Does it open for here

Ta buteman. That page opens with message "Files required to use updater are no longer registered on your computer"

There is then ( a ticked ) option to register.
Then a continue option.
It goes through some process ( registering ? ) that does not produce any error messages but if I reload update page process atarts over again.
Any ideas ? Have only experienced ( I think ) this since upgrading to SP3 ( a process which validated my XP OS ).

Have you tried rebooting after registering.Looks like the genuine advantage tool may not have registered.[I hope that it what you call it.] Or maybe try with your Automatic updates switched off.

Don't turn off auto updates.

Ta for that gengiscant Dial-A-Fix sorted registry permissions ( numerous ) which prob happened after SP3 "upgrade" .. at any rate all my issues started after SP3. Ta again for all contributions and especially the successful one !
